1930 – 1940

In 1929, Štirn, business- wise wine salesman bought the property close to the sandy river beach of Sava river, not far from the centre of Ljubljana and built a tavern in 1930. On both sides of the tavern he built wooden huts, showers, a stable, a hut for bicycles, a small boathouse and an extra bar. This was called Šterns Venetian bathhouse. He also rearranged the beach by adding a wooden landing on the shore and built many objects offering different sports activities.

Second World War stopped any further development of the bathhouse.

1948 – 1964

Due to the process of Nationalization, the bathhouse was added to the Recreational centre of Ježica (RCJ) that gradually brought it back into service. The main activity of the bathhouse at that time was gastronomy.

1965 – 1979

The legal heir of the Recreational centre of Ježica, Gostinsko podjetje Ljubljana developed auto camp Ježica (camp, summer houses, bungalows, summer and winter bathhouse with sauna and automatic bowling centre).

1980 – 1990

Due to the economic crisis and high costs the winter bathhouse was closed down and redeveloped into fitness gym.

1991 – 2000

Period of “denationalization” and unclear ownership slowed down progress of development.

2001

Temporary renovation of the tavern Štern.

2004 – 2005

After the termination of denationalization processes we started the technical renovation of the auto camp Ježica in Ljubljana Resort. On the foundations of the former bathhouse we built a modern outdoor complex Laguna Ljubljana beach club. Association G-rega (leading provider of sports activities for pre-school children) arranged indoor children sports hall within the Laguna Ljubljana sport club.

2006

We put back in to use the »glass« hall within Laguna Ljubljana sport club for afternoon and evening events by the pool – no matter what the weather is. The hall is open throughout the whole year and is appropriate for seminars, social and business events.

2007

We arranged the indoor beauty salon Laguna Jeraj. Association G-rega expanded its activities and facilities.

In the coming years we plan to arrange the surroundings outside the fence of LJUBLJANA RESORT with intention of gaining additional communication and advertising surfaces. We will increase the hotel capacities and arrange additional parking spaces. We will rearrange and modernize Laguna Ljubljana sport club. We will also add the culinary and seminar offer and additionally interest your taste with entertainment and relaxation activities outdoors.
